Specific Claims Gathering: First Nations Discussion Forum.

Feb 25, 2014. The Assembly of First Nations (AFN) is hosting a Specific Claims Gathering: First Nations Discussion Forum next week, on March 4th, 2014, at the Renaissance Hotel in Vancouver, BC. The Gathering’s theme is “Reflecting on the Specific Claims Process for the 5-year legislative review”.

This Gathering will provide First Nations with a unique opportunity to share information and receive feedback on how to move forward on issues related to specific claims. Among those presenting will be First Nations leaders, legal representatives (including Louise Mandell and Clo Ostrove), technicians, and researchers. We are pleased to have Justice Harry Slade, chair of the Specific Claims Tribunal, as a presenter, and Jean Crowder, MP Nanaimo-Cowichan NDP Aboriginal Affairs critic, for a lunch keynote address.

The event is FREE for First Nation representatives, but space is limited.
