Prince George B.C.
First Nations in the area have the chance to learn more about liquefied natural gas at a workshop this week. The First Nations Financial Management Board and the First Nations Energy and Mining Council are hosting the workshop as a pre-conference to an LNG Summit in Prince George. Chairman of the First Nations Financial Management Board Harold Calla says First Nations members have the chance to learn about the economic impacts of LNG projects.
"And in particular to have some discussion around how First Nations equity participation in these projects might be achieved," says Calla, "you need to understand the scale of them and to understand where the money is in each of these projects."
Calla says the workshop will take place at the Civic Centre on Tuesday, October 8th. Its free of charge and people also have a chance to ask their questions and concerns on LNG projects.
