Woodland Cultural Centre will celebrate the finest in First Nations traditional and contemporary fashion during FashioNative on Monday, Jan. 13 at 7 p.m.
The “wearable art exhibit” features the work of aboriginal designers Angela DeMontigny, Sage Paul, Chessa Syrette and Tracy Toulouse.
The show highlights the impact of aboriginal fashion designers and attempts to de-mystify the idea of First Nations fashion through an appreciation of the uniqueness and importance of traditions, tribal designs and style.
An exhibit of the designs will run from Jan. 15 to April 18 at the museum.
Tickets to the fashion show cost $10 and can be purchased online at www.woodland-centre.on.ca or at the museum.
