Nominations open for Benoit First Nation

The nomination process for chief and council of Benoit First Nation is underway and closes on March 30.

Nomination forms are available through the organization’s website at www.benoitfirstnation.ca or from Myra Benoit, election officer.

Nominations can be dropped off to the election officer at the French Centre in Degrau or mailed to Benoit First Nation Nominations, 805 Oceanview Drive Cape St. George. NL., by March 30.

If required, elections will take place between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. at the French Centre on April 27.

Online voting through the organization’s website will be available during the same hours for those living outside the area.

Mail-in ballots will be accepted up to April 15.

If there is only one person nominated for each position, that person will be deemed to have been elected by acclamation.
