The Shubenacadie First Nation took part for the first time in the community’s Hay Days parade on Tuesday.
“Through building community relations, it is great to have two nations coming together in unison and having a lot of fun on this Canada Day/Shubenacadie Hay Days,” said Chief Rufus Copage.
During the parade, Copage sat at the head of a wheeled canoe with the flags of the First Nation and Canada at front and back.
More than 1,000 people from the First Nation live in Indian Brook, which is a short drive west of the community of Shubenacadie.
